Easy ways to extend science activities
Once your child has finished the experiment, keep the learning going with related ideas. These can connect different science topics or just give them another chance to explore.
- Color Experiments for Kids: These are perfect for exploring how colors mix and change. My daughter loved swirling colors together to see what she’d get next.
- Fizzy Science Experiments: Simple chemical reactions can be turned into play. These were always our go-to when we had baking soda to use up.
- Nature walks with observation journals: Collect leaves, rocks, or sticks, then come home and compare them. We used to do this in the fall, adding quick notes and drawings.
- Water table science: Set up water bins and add items that sink or float. Great for warm days when you want to sneak in some science.
