Strawberry Activity Sheets
That love for strawberries inspired me to create these Strawberry Activity Sheets for early elementary learners. Strawberry season is one of my favorites. Something about the bright red fruit, the fresh scent, and the simple joy of picking berries just brings me back to summers as a kid.
If you’re exploring plants in your homeschool, you might want to check out my list of Plant Activities for Kids. I have a ton of hands-on ideas and printable resources you can use right alongside this strawberry set.
This printable includes pages for kids in grades 1-3 to work through. Go on reading to find out what you’ll get and how I used it with my kids.

Fun Facts About Strawberries
Did you know strawberries are more than just sweet snacks? Here are a few lesser-known things we discovered while doing these activities together:
- Strawberries aren’t actually berries. Botanically speaking, they belong to a group called “aggregate fruits” because the seeds are on the outside.
- There are over 600 varieties. Each one has its own flavor, shape, and even size. We found a few different kinds at the farmer’s market and tried them all.
- Strawberries were once used for medicine. Ancient Romans believed they helped with everything from fainting to kidney stones. My kids thought that was hilarious.
Recommended Strawberry Books
To go along with these activity sheets, I’ve also listed some great strawberry-themed storybooks and nonfiction books for younger readers.

Why do kids need to learn about strawberries?
Learning about strawberries is a fun entry point into plant science. Plus, it’s a great topic for weaving in early literacy and art skills.
- Understand plant life cycles. Strawberries are easy to observe through the stages of growth. Kids can compare this to other plants they might be familiar with.
- Practice reading and writing. The vocabulary and sentence work build language skills naturally.
- Stay busy during downtime. These are great for quiet time, rainy days, or even road trips. My older two worked on them in the car during a trip to visit family.

Printable Strawberry Activities Supplies
You don’t need much to get started, but here are some basic items that helped us get the most out of this printable.
- Printer (I have this one)
- Paper
- Pencil
- Crayons
- Clipboards for working on the go
I have the HP printer 8710, but it’s not available anymore. It’s been running well for years now. Look for another HP Instant Ink-ready printer so that you can use their program to send you ink cartridges whenever your printer gets low on ink.
What’s included in the strawberry activity pages?
Coloring Page
A photo-style illustration of two children holding baskets full of strawberries, surrounded by strawberry desserts. The word “strawberry” appears at the bottom as a large outline text that kids can color in.
Strawberry Vocabulary
Kids will unscramble words related to the strawberry plant and its growth cycle. There are also small images that they can color once they complete the word activity.
Strawberry Word Search
A simple search puzzle that challenges kids to find 10 strawberry-themed words. It’s a good warm-up activity to settle into learning time.
Fill in the Blanks
Using a small word bank, students will complete sentences about strawberries. It’s designed to reinforce vocabulary and sentence logic.
Funny Strawberry Characters
There are four blank strawberry outlines where kids can draw faces, arms, and accessories. My son turned one into a superhero with a cape and everything.
