What are the parts of a strawberry plant?
Have your kids ever wondered what makes up a strawberry plant that produces delicious strawberry fruits? Well, it’s quite interesting! Each part has a special job.
Leaves
First, the plant has leaves. They are green and kind of like the plant’s kitchen. The leaves are responsible for catching sunlight to make food for the plant.
Roots
Next are the roots. You can’t usually see them because they’re underground. Roots drink up water and food from the soil to help the strawberry plant grow.
Stem
The stem is like the strawberry plant’s backbone. It stands upright and holds up the leaves, flowers, and delicious berries. It also carries food and water to different parts of the plant.
Flowers
Strawberry plants also have beautiful flowers. The flowers are usually white. They are very important because they turn into the strawberries we eat!
Fruit
Finally, we have the fruit – strawberries. They start off as white flowers and then change into the red, juicy fruits we love. Strawberries are not just yummy, but also good for your body.
And there you have it! Those are the main parts of a strawberry plant. Each part works together to make delicious strawberries for us to enjoy.
