We love lacing cards. We’ve been using them for a really long time and the kids really never get tired of them. Even as they’ve gotten older, they’ll still pick up a lacing card and work on it. I love watching them complete it and see that confidence spread across their face. To me, this is what learning is all about.

We study space a lot and it’s not uncommon for us to grab out telescope and head out the door to look up into the sky. The kids love looking at the stars and trying to see planets and it’s a great way to explore the space and area around us.

Space Books for Kids

Don’t forget to get all the books! Books are one of my favorite ways to have the kids learn when they don’t even know that they’re learning! It’s not speaky – it’s awesome!

We have a ton of great books at our house all the time and we have no shortage of space books at all. These books for kids are all about great stories and facts about space.

I’ve found that the more that we entertwine books into our learning, the more that the kids tend to pay attention and remember. This is a great way to add value to a lesson without having it feel like an actual lesson.

In fact, we read so much in our house that it doesn’t even really feel like learning. When the kids are winding down, they’ll read. When the kids are needing something to do, they’ll pick up a book.

I love having books in their rooms, they’re in our cars, literally everywhere. So that way at any given point in time, they can sit down and pick up a book.

This is a great way to keep their hands and minds active during trips and other types of travel.

All you have to do is enter your information below to get the space lacing cards and you’ll be well on your way.

Then you can use ribbon or string or even a shoelace to have the kids lace and complete!

Fun Ways to Use Lacing Cards

While using lacing cards isn’t hard to do, think outside the box on other ways that you can use them. If you want to use different colored strings, do so! This would be a great way to work on colors or even counting skills to have them count out loud the holes that they’re lacing through as they do them.

You can also have the kids try to draw their own planets and then cut them out and use a hole puncher to create the lacing holes. This will encourage them to be creative and to think outside the box!

Space Toys for Kids

There’s always time for toys! Make certain to check out this list of toy suggestions for kids. We don’t have a ton of toys in our house but the ones that we do tend to have an educational purpose to them.

I love having puzzles and interactive toys on hands because that requires the kids to use their minds and brains to play with them. I think that toys can be a great learning tool to really help the kids understand a lesson that you’re working on.

Giving educational toys to kids for holidays and birthdays is a great idea. This gives them the chance to have those toys and use them to learn even more. Instead of having toys in the house that don’t add any educational value, start thinking about ways that you can increase your educational toys easily.

This list of space toys are perfect for helping kids love and learn more about space. You’ll find that a lot of these toys can be used for so many fun learning activities!
