Polar Bear Activities for Kindergarten

As big as they are, polar bears are amazing swimmers. They have large padded feet that act as snowshoes on top of the ice and paddles when they are swimming.

Because of the adaptations, the layers of fat and fur help a polar bear withstand temperatures at -50C.

Polar bears are found near the Arctic sea ice so in surrounding countries like Canada, United States (Alaska), Greenland, Norway, and Russia.

They hunt seals on the sea ice and can smell their prey up to 1 km away and 1 m below the snow.

Their sea ice is threatened with global warming and the ice that is disappearing
