Recommended Frog Books for Kids
If you want a fun reading time with your kids before your life cycle lesson, these book recommendations about frogs will totally get your kid’s interest in the topic.
Since we spend a lot of time learning about frogs and other types of animals and reptiles at home, I always make sure that we have books on hand about our topics, too. This is because I want the kids to know that they can pick up a book and read during the downtimes and learn even more about frogs in the process.
Books are a great way for kids to learn at their own pace and on their own time. Some of the books listed below have facts about frogs while other books are fun stories about frogs, too. The great thing about any of these books is that they’re really great for letting the kids dive in and learn.
Don’t forget to swap out books to keep them fresh and new. If there are things that your kids want to learn about frogs, give the kids the resources to find the answers that they’re looking for.

Frog Life Cycle Supplies
The great thing about this life cycle activity is that you just need a few simple supplies to get started.
- play dough
- paper plate
- construction paper
- glue
- scissors
That’s all you’ll need to get started! (You can also use these same supplies for more creative life cycle learning as well. We like to use them for this Chicken Life Cycle Activity.
Sit and talk to the kid about the life cycle of a frog and then let them create it using playdough. This is a great way to work on their listening skills and then see if they’re able to create what you just talked about with them.
Recommended Frog Life Cycle Educational Toys
Having these Frog Life Cycle Educational Toys could really help you with the Frog Life Cycle topic. You can use either the figurines (left) or the wooden inserts (right) for an awesome frog life cycle lesson.
Having toys that are educational is never a bad idea. I’ve found that the kids are more than happy to play with learning toys and actually like doing so! This means that they’ll get to use their sensory skills while also learning and having fun. That sounds like a winning combination to me!
You can easily use these learning toys in your homeschool classroom or give them out as gifts. They’re perfect for holidays, birthdays, and more!
Use this activity as a fun learning experience for the kids. Once they learn the life cycle of a frog, it’s only logical to head out the door and try to find some frogs! Make sure to remind the kids to be careful with their hands if frogs are touched, and it might just be better to look with their eyes.
If you can’t find a frog, challenge the kids to see if they can find any life cycle of the frog! This will keep them engaged and actively interested.
