Chinese New Year Crafts

If there’s one thing that kids love, it’s getting creative with crafts. For the Chinese New Year, you can have your children make paper lanterns or decorations for the house such as fans or red envelopes.

You can also have them make paper dragons, which are a traditional symbol of luck in China. Dragon masks are another great craft idea because they help your child imagine themselves in the story of the Chinese New Year.

Chinese New Year Slime Recipes

Slime recipes are all the rage these days, and there’s no better time to play with a Chinese New Year slime other than the Chinese New Year!

You can get creative by making slime with red and gold colors in honor of the occasion. Or, if you want something a bit more educational, create slime recipes themed around shapes like circles or stars—these shapes represent good fortune in China!

Chinese New Year Sensory Bin

What better way to explore new cultures than through sensory play? Create a sensory bin filled with objects related to Chinese culture such as coins, chopsticks, dragon puppets, and lucky bamboo plants.

Then let your children explore their newfound knowledge through hands-on activities while having fun along the way.

Chinese New Year Math Printables

Learning math is always more fun when you add a bit of cultural flavor into it! Print out some math worksheets themed around Chinese New Year such as counting coins in yuan or counting down from 12 (the number of animals featured on the zodiac calendar).

Not only will this be a great way for your child to practice their math skills but also become familiarized with aspects of another culture.
