Fun Facts About Apples

Did you know apples have a history that goes back thousands of years? Here are some interesting facts that kids will enjoy learning:

  • Apples grow in every state in the U.S. Some places grow more, but you can find apple farms almost everywhere.
  • The name for an apple tree is Malus domestica. It’s a fancy name, but kids may think it’s fun to learn.
  • Apples get soft much quicker if left out. They stay fresh longer when kept in the fridge.

Recommended Apple Books

I always enjoy pairing themed books with activities, and apple-themed stories are perfect for circle time or quiet reading.

  • Fine motor practice: The squeezing motion of the marker builds hand strength, which is important for writing later.
  • Letter and number recognition: Dot activities can be used to introduce and reinforce early academic skills.

Supplies You’ll Need for the Apple Dot Marker Worksheets

Here are the basic supplies to get started:

I have the HP printer 8710, but it’s no longer available. It’s been running well for years now. Consider another HP Instant Ink-ready printer so that you can use their program to send you ink cartridges whenever your printer gets low on ink.
