When reading these books with preschoolers, parents can take the opportunity to delve deeper into the subject matter by teaching them more about the ant life cycle. The ant life cycle has four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult.

With each stage comes a new development in an ant’s life—from their growth from eggs into larvae to their transformation from pupae into adults. You can encourage your child to make observations during these phases or even set up an observation chart so they can track changes over time!
