Making the Sensory Bin for the 4th of July

When I introduced this tray to my son, he was immediately drawn to the colorful stars. He eagerly reached for the tweezers and began pulling the stars out individually, keeping him busy long enough for me to clean the kitchen.

I’ve done many sensory activities with my kids, but this one felt especially engaging. Maybe it was the theme, or perhaps it was just the novelty of the stars, but he kept coming back to it throughout the day.

We even made a sorting game out of it. After gathering all the stars, we lined them up by color. Then, we counted each group. It was easy to practice colors and early math skills without a worksheet.
