- Longest Night of the Year – The longest night and shortest day of the year is called the Winter Solstice. After that, the days start getting longer again.

- Snow is Not White – Believe it or not, the snow is actually clear. It only appears white because it reflects light in all different colors. How awesome is that?

I’m all about adding new and fun ideas to the winter months. This is because it’s cold, snowy, and often, one of the hardest times to get motivated.
Because of this, I like to think outside the box and find fun new things to do. One of my favorite winter activities is printables, but there are always other fun options and ideas.
Don’t forget that the local library is a great resource for the kids, as this is a fun way to get them out of the house, as well as encouraging them to read.
You can also plan a winter hike; just bundle up and make sure you’re aware of the cold outside. During the super cold days, a quick hike is key, and then make sure that you come home and snuggle up with some hot cocoa.
You can also look up how to make homemade slime or playdough and spend the day creating and crafting at home.
Any of these ideas would be perfect for winter activities, so have fun with them.
