Their fur isn’t white! It only appears white because of visible light reflection. Underneath all that glowing fur, their skin is black which helps them soak up the sun’s warming rays.
They are excellent swimmers. Polar bears can swim for long distances at a stretch and can reach speeds up to 6 miles per hour in the water.
Polar bears are the largest species of bear. Male polar bears can weigh up to 1600 pounds and stand up to 11 feet tall!
