Since we do most of our learning at home, the kids do great when printables are involved. They’re a super fun way to combine learning with a fun visual. I also love how printables give the kids a boost of confidence, too.
We like to learn about birds and animals and we dive into learning about their entire bodies and life cycles as well. Because when you’re learning, you might as well dive into other topics while you’re doing so!

Parts of a Turkey Worksheet
The kids have always been intrigued by turkeys. So much so that when we see one in the wild, we have to stop and take a look at all its glory. Truth be told, turkeys are really quite interesting to look at. They have a beautiful tail, a small head, and a big round body – which make for a fun and great talking points to have with the kids.
Seeing them in the wild is always an exciting time because they’re always strutting around and showing off their stuff. The kids get a kick out of seeing them, too! You can see them at petting zoos and farms as well so it can be a great way to get out and take a field trip as well.

Recommended Turkey Books for Kids
What fun would learning be without any reading? I love finding great books for the kids to read and there are so many great turkey books out there! Once we get past Halloween, the Halloween books get put up and the Turkey books come out! The kids have a blast reading these books and turning through the pages!
The biggest reason that I have so many types of books for the kids to read is that I think it’s important to swap them out to keep them fresh. My kids will read the same books over and over again and once they get tired of them, I like to put them away for a while and pull out something new.
It’s not uncommon for me to have 15-20 books on a specific topic packed away and waiting. I love having books that are seasonal for the kids to dive into and read. I keep them in the car, in my purse, and the kids even have started packing some when we step out of the house.
Because when we’re waiting or traveling or going to appointments, downtime is the perfect time to pick up a book!

What are the parts of a turkey?
Do you know all the parts of a turkey? This sheet can help you learn, too. I’m always telling the kids that even adults need refreshes so these printables are fun for me to rack my brain and refresh my mind as well.
The parts of the turkey on this worksheet are:
- Tail feathers
- Tail coverts
- Wing feathers
Not only does this worksheet teach the kids the words of the turkey parts but it also teaches them where they are on the body of the turkey, too.
They’ll be able to visually see the words, then write the words out on the correct lines that are pointing to the right areas of the turkey.
Multiple ways of learning is always a good idea and a simple way to get a topic or idea to stick in their minds.

If they have any turkey stuffed animals, have them grab them to join the party! They can also do their best to draw their own turkey and color it as well.
