What are the parts of a pumpkin?
When it comes to understanding the anatomy of a pumpkin, it’s essential to know the different parts of the vegetable. A pumpkin is composed of five basic parts: seeds, flesh, pulp, stem, and skin.
The seeds are the tiny kernels that are found inside the flesh of the pumpkin. The pumpkin’s flesh refers to the thick, orange-colored meat that is found within the skin and gives the pumpkin its signature hue.
The pulp is the stringy, fibrous material that holds the seeds together in the middle of the pumpkin. The stem is the curvy green part at the top of the pumpkin that connects the vegetable to the vine.
The skin is the hard, shiny exterior that protects the flesh and pulp while the pumpkin is still growing.
There’s no better way to learn about pumpkins then to cut one open and maybe even make some pumpkin pie.
