Why You Need a Homeschool Planner
A homeschool planner is an all-in-one tool designed to help homeschooling parents keep track of their daily, weekly, and monthly activities. It is a customized plan that allows homeschoolers to organize their homeschooling materials, classes, schedules, and goals in an efficient and systematic way.
Using a homeschool planner eliminates the need for multiple planners, sticky notes, and scraps of paper with notes, which can become overwhelming, confusing, and stressful.
A homeschool planner is a practical and useful tool that can be adapted to the individual needs and preferences of homeschooling parents and their children. It is an excellent way to implement the principles of time management, setting priorities, and achieving goals.
Finding the right homeschool planner layout and design that suits your planning style will take some trial and error.
I love my Happy Planner and they have a homeschool lesson planning insert that I add to my planner so I can keep everything together.

Ways to Use a Homeschool Planner
A homeschool planner can be used for planning and tracking different areas of homeschool life, such as:
Curriculum Planning
A homeschool planner can help you outline your homeschooling curriculum for the year, including subject areas, goals, and milestones. You can also use it to keep track of your child’s progress and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses.
Scheduling
A homeschool planner can help you plan and schedule your weekly and daily lessons, activities, and appointments, as well as track attendance, reading logs, and assignments.
Goal-setting
A homeschool planner can help you set long-term and short-term goals for your homeschooling program, such as academic achievements, character development, and extracurricular activities.
Record-keeping
A homeschool planner can help you keep records of your homeschooling program, such as grades, progress reports, and transcripts.
Homeschool Planner Cover Pages
Sometimes your good old planner just needs a refresh or the old cover is in pieces and ready to fall off.
A pretty planner always makes planning more fun and you look forward to filling it out each week.
Below, I will share with you some of my cover pages that you can use to make your homeschool planner pretty! You can choose the design depending on your mood or personality. Isn’t that great?
How to print the planner cover pages
- Printer (I have this one)
- Paper
- Paper trimmer
If you’re using a full-sized planner that is 8.5″x11″ when printing use the “Actual Size” or 100% Scale setting for your printer.
For best results print on heavy-weight paper such as 28# – 32# paper and laminate with 10mil laminate sheets. Laminate both the cover and back cover for increased durability.
So start your homeschool year right by planning and organizing everything you need. Have fun!
