Groundhog Day is a beloved holiday celebrated on February 2nd in the United States, but many people don’t know what it’s really all about.
According to lore, if Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog, emerges from its burrow on this day and sees its shadow, then winter will last for six more weeks; if it doesn’t see its shadow, then an early spring is in store.
