Fall Counting Mats Perfect for Preschoolers
There’s no better way to start celebrating the season of Fall than with these fun and educational Fall Counting Mats!
This set of printables is part of our Fun Fall Printables for Kids collection.
Ah! Fall is upon us again! Don’t you just love everything that Fall brings? Kids have been in school for a few weeks now, so it is great to welcome the season with some fun educational activities that are fun and hands-on. Why? Because kids learn best when they use their hands. (as do most of us, right?!)
These Fall counting mats are great practice counting using dot markers or they can place counters on top of them as well.
Math worksheets are a fun way to change things up in your homeschool as you move into a different season. As you can tell from my homeschooling methods, I love to use fun seasonal worksheets and printables.

Fall Counting Mats
You can practice counting any time of the year, but you don’t have to use the same workbook or flashcards, change things up and make it fun. Use play dough or beads and let them lead you through the activity to see what they do with it. Children are always more engaged when they are physically using their hands in conjunction with their learning.
I’ve found that when I started to incorporate themes and changes in the season, my kids realized that they had a new interest in the subjects that they were learning. What this means is that you have the chance at least 4 times per year to change up the printables based on the time of the year.
Your little one will enjoy these fun Printable Fall Activities for Preschoolers. Perfect for the fall season.

Recommended Math Resources
These Math resources go perfectly with these activities, especially if you laminate your counting mats. That way, they will be more durable and they can be used over and over and with multiple kids. I love doing that!
Plus, laminating the counting mats is great so that you can take them with you when you are on the go! I’ve found that laminating our printables makes them not only last longer but gives the kids something to use over and over again.
This means that we can pack them up for car trips or appointments or use them during other times when we have some time to burn. And since it’s fun to use them, wipe them off, and use them again, the kids have actually never gotten bored with this type of learning method, either. (and I love it because it’s saving on paper as well!)

How to use these Fall Counting Mats
There are a lot of ways that you can use these fall math printables so do what works best with your kids.
Sometimes my daughter loves using her bingo dabber but she also likes to place her pompoms on top of the pictures to count them out as well. I think that it’s important to encourage children to learn in whatever way interests them and is fun!
