Interesting Facts About Fall
Autumn isn’t just about pumpkins and sweaters. There are some fascinating things about this season that kids will enjoy learning.
- Leaves change color because of less sunlight: In fall, the days get shorter and trees stop producing chlorophyll, revealing the reds, oranges, and yellows hidden in the leaves.
- Animals prepare for winter: Many animals store food, grow thicker fur, or migrate to warmer areas during this time.
- The fall equinox means equal day and night: Twice a year, day and night are nearly the same length, and one of those times is the start of fall.
Recommended Fall Books
Alongside these activities, I keep a small stack of fall-themed books on hand. They help set the mood for the season while reinforcing what we’re learning.

Fall Learning Activities Supplies
You only need a few basics to get started.
- Printer (I have this one)
- Paper
- Pencil
- Crayons
I have the HP printer 8710, but it’s not available anymore. It’s been running well for years now. Look for another HP Instant Ink-ready printer so that you can use their program to send you ink cartridges whenever your printer gets low on ink.
