Interesting Facts About Canada Your Kids Probably Haven’t Heard

There are some facts about Canada that always make my kids pause and ask questions. These are the kinds of details that bring a country to life beyond maps and borders:

  • The world’s longest coastline: Canada has more coastline than any other country. It stretches over 200,000 kilometers, touching three different oceans.
  • A desert in British Columbia: Most people picture cold when they think of Canada, but there’s a small desert near Osoyoos, BC. It gets less than 12 inches of rain each year.
  • It’s home to polar bears and rattlesnakes: Kids are usually surprised by the mix of wildlife. Canada isn’t just moose and beavers. There are Arctic animals up north and even rattlesnakes in parts of the Prairies.

I definitely recommend adding some fun and informative books to the mix. They work well alongside coloring pages and map activities to create a fuller picture of the country.

I have the HP printer 8710, but it’s not available anymore. It’s been running well for years now. Look for another HP Instant Ink-ready printer so that you can use their program to send you ink cartridges whenever your printer gets low on ink.
