Fun Weather Facts for Preschool
Did you know the weather can be super fun? Here are some cool facts about the weather that you can share with your preschooler!
Rainbows
Have you ever seen a beautiful rainbow in the sky? Rainbows happen when the sun shines through raindrops, making a colorful arc with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. It’s like magic!
Snowflakes
Every snowflake is different! When it snows, billions of tiny flakes fall, and each one has its own unique shape. No two snowflakes are the same.
Thunder and Lightning
Have you heard a big boom in the sky during a storm? That’s thunder, and it’s caused by lightning. Lightning is a big electric spark in the sky, and thunder is the sound it makes.
Clouds
Clouds are like fluffy cotton balls in the sky. They are made of tiny water droplets. Some clouds bring rain, while others just float around on sunny days.
Isn’t the weather amazing? Next time you’re outside, see if you can spot any of these weather wonders!

What’s included in the Weather Worksheet for Preschoolers?
I’ve packed tons of fun activities into the preschool weather worksheets to make learning about weather super exciting! Here’s what you’ll find:
Weather Line Tracing
Connect the dots by tracing the lines from the picture of the weather to the picture of a child experiencing that kind of weather. For example, trace from a rainy cloud to a child holding an umbrella.
Weather Word Tracing
Practice writing by tracing the words sunny, windy, stormy, rainy, and snowy. It’s a great way to learn how to spell weather words!
Match the Weather
This matching game helps kids pair weather words with the correct pictures. Match “rainy” to a picture of rain, “sunny” to a shining sun, and so on.
Today’s Weather
Look outside and figure out today’s weather! Circle the right weather, color in the things you’ll need, and put a box around the activities you can do. Is it sunny or rainy?
Weather Pattern
Get those scissors ready! Cut and paste the next weather that comes in the pattern. This activity is great for recognizing sequences and patterns.
