What’s included in the ten plagues coloring activity?
This printable includes 11 black-and-white coloring pages that focus on each of the ten plagues from Exodus.
Title Page
The first page features a cover sheet titled “The Ten Plagues” with small illustrations representing each plague. It works well as a title page or as an overview sheet.
First Plague: Water Turned to Blood
Kids color Moses turning the Nile to blood. It’s a good chance to talk about obedience and warning signs.
Second Plague: Frogs
This page shows lots of frogs everywhere. My daughter laughed at this one—she couldn’t imagine frogs hopping around the kitchen.
Third Plague: Gnats or Lice
Simple gnat drawings show the annoyance of this plague. We used this one to talk about how small things can still make a big impact.
Fourth Plague: Flies
Large flies swarm across the page. It made for good conversation about discomfort and how we react to problems.
Fifth Plague: Livestock Dies
This coloring sheet shows animals affected by disease. It’s a sobering one, but it opens a real discussion about consequences.
Sixth Plague: Boils
Hands with boils represent this plague. Kids may ask questions, so be ready for a simple explanation about illness.
Seventh Plague: Hail
A storm scene with lightning and hail falling from the sky. A good time to talk about the weather and God’s power.
Eighth Plague: Locusts
Bugs fill the page, ready to eat the crops. It’s a simple drawing, but you can tie it to food supply and agriculture.
Ninth Plague: Darkness
Pyramids under a dark sky show the land covered in shadow. This one led to a talk about light, fear, and trust.
Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn
Two stone tablets represent the final plague. While heavier in theme, it’s an opportunity to discuss protection and deliverance.
How to Extend the Activity
Once the coloring pages are done, it’s easy to build a full lesson around the story with these printable add-ons or activity ideas:
- Act Out the Plagues: Let kids pretend to be each plague. Frogs jumping, darkness spreading. They get to move around and connect with the lesson.
- Make a Ten Plagues Poster: Use the finished coloring pages to create a visual timeline or story wall.
- 10 Commandments Matching Game: A great follow-up to help kids learn more about God’s laws. We’ve used it right after finishing the plagues to transition into Mount Sinai.
- Creation Worksheets for Kids: Helpful for reviewing earlier stories in Genesis. I used these to circle back to the beginning of the Bible.
