Spider Facts for Kids

There are so many great spider books for homeschooling kindergarteners! These fun and exciting books help little ones learn all about these amazing creatures. Here are some fun and simple facts about them:

  • Spiders are not insects: They do not have three body parts with six legs. They are arachnids. They’re in the same family as scorpions, and there are so many shapes and types of spiders that you’d be amazed at what they can all do.
  • Different Colors: Just like crayons, spiders come in all sorts of colors and patterns, making them fun to look at.
  • Eight Legs: All spiders have eight legs! That’s twice as many as you have. Imagine trying to find shoes for all those feet!
  • Spinning Webs: Spiders make webs out of silky string they produce. These webs are their homes and also their way of catching food.
  • Lots of Eyes: Most spiders have more eyes than we do! They can have up to eight eyes to help them see.
  • Tiny Builders: Even though they are small, spiders are very clever at building their webs. They can make them in just about any shape!
