Anytime we want to create a sea turtle, I always love using this template. It helps the kids stay focused and gives them guidelines and parameters on what works best for them. They see the lines that they need to stay in as well as how to use it best to create as round of a turtle shell that they possibly can.
For me, this template saves the stresses of me having to draw out a turtle shell which sometimes isn’t even quite the right shape! Use this turtle template as a fun baseline for the kids to perfect their sea turtle creations.

Sea Turtle Books for Kids
When you’re doing a themed activity or a themed learning lesson in school, you must supplement with books. It’s a great way to get them geared and excited and wanting to learn more.
I have no shame in admitting that I like to use books to help make lessons longer and more interesting. There’s just something fun about knowing that a good book full of great information can be a game-changer and a “hook” in having the kids want more.
For this reason, I love to keep books in every room of the house. Because if you make learning materials readily available, the kids are more likely to want to use them.
I can’t tell you the number of times that I’ve looked over and seen the kids grab a book and just plop down and read. It warms my heart every single time.

One of the best things that we do as a family is that we sit down and read together. It’s a time that we can all be in the same room and feel together while reading and absorbing information. The kids love it, and so do I.

As you can see, the template is easy to follow and print. The kids can even work on their scissor cutting skills and follow the outlines. They’re thick outlines so that they are easy to see to help with cutting.
Let the kids practice on making turns and cutting along the lines as well. This will help them build confidence and really feel as though they’re a part of the craft and project. Remember that this turtle outline can be used for a wide number of projects so be certain to give it a go and print it out.
The kids can then use it to cut, color, glue, or anything else that they might want to do! Let them have fun with this activity!
Fun Ways to Use This Turtle Template
The sky is the limit when it comes to printing off this template. You can easily print this off and let the kids have fun! One other really fun idea is to lay a piece of paper over the template and trace it as well.
This will help them work on their concentration skills and they’ll love being able to draw and possibly even use their own template that they created for fun future projects!
You can also use this as a puzzle. Print it out, cut the pieces out, and have the kids piece it together to create a turtle. They can then glue the pieces together and decorate or create it any which way that they want.
