How does crafting help kids?

Once kids start to craft, their confidence is going to shine bright! They’ll love being able to create a project and a craft on their own that they can then show off to family and friends.

Crafting is also a great time for families to bond. Having the right craft supplies to work on creating something together is a great way to make memories.

Not only that but some craft activities and ideas make great presents and even home decor!

Use this fun winter craft as a way to work on confidence, fine motor skills, and the ability to detach from screens for a bit to work on creativity.

How often should kids be creative?

As often as they can! I think that it’s super important to not limit the amount of creativity time that kids can have. In fact, the more, the better!

What happens when they slow down and get away from screens and TV’s is that they start to use their mind in ways that are creative and fun.

This can be great for critical thinking skills, analytical skills, and more.

Even if they want to be creative and craft multiple times a day, be there for it and let it happen.

The easiest way to encourage them to be creative is to have a space decorated for them to have fun. If you can use a small crafting space or area, that would be a great way for them to sit down when the mood hits and create something fun.

This also gives them the chance to come back to something or to start something new as well. And it means that there is a way to keep all of the craft supplies out of the way and in a space that is simple and easy to find for the next time that they want to be creative.

It doesn’t get much better than that!

Directions:

1. Cut down the Q-tips to the desired lengths (adults are encouraged to do this since cutting Q-tips can be difficult and dangerous for little kids!)

What to do with your Q-tip Snowflake Craft?

Once everything is dry and set in place, your Q-tip snowflake is done!

If you want to display your finished snowflake in a window or elsewhere in the house, then adding some clear thread or fishing line may also come in handy to hang up your finished product where everyone can see it!

Now sit back and enjoy all that hard work – that’s what homeschooling is all about after all!
