Montessori education focuses on activities that the kids can explore on their own. Introducing topics should naturally spark their interests and that is where hands-on learning is important. This type of approach to teaching kids has been proven effective in the holistic development of kids.

What is the Montessori method?

When we hear the Montessori method of teaching we might get a little scared because it is really challenging. But, we actually have the advantage since homeschooling does not quite follow the traditional teaching method.

The thing with Montessori education is that it is headed towards self-directed learning. Kids, being naturally curious, will take the initiative to explore and learn on their own. What we can do is surround them with resources that will help in their learning and development.

Observe your kids and see what excites them the most. You can list down their preferences in the topics and when it comes to hands-on activities.

Let them explore freely to build their confidence and independence. Build a conducive learning environment and include Montessori activities in your homeschooling.

I know it can be hard to draw a line between being a parent and a teacher. Just be patient and soon you’ll master the Montessori method.

Always remember, all kids are different.
