How to Make a Paper Plate Cat Craft
Making a paper plate cat craft is an enjoyable and easy activity that parents and teachers can do with kids. Not only will your child have lots of fun making this craft but they’ll also develop essential motor skills and creativity as they cut out shapes, assemble the pieces and decide how their cat paper plate looks.
Recreate your kid’s furry best friend through this paper plate craft! You can use yellow paint to make a ginger kitty out of a paper plate!
Your furry cat will not be complete without eyes, mouth, and nose so be sure to print the template provided in this activity and help your kids improve their pencil grip and tracing skills in this part of the activity as they trace them into the colored papers.
Help your kids assemble the parts onto your paper plate (just remember to wait for a few minutes for the paint to dry!)
Level up your cat craft by making it look a bit more realistic with a pair of cute furry ears! Don’t forget to attach them to your cat.

Paper Plate Cat Craft
Your young animal lovers at home will surely enjoy expressing their creativity in turning their favorite pet animal into a fun paper plate cat craft!
Materials
- Pen
- Scissors
- Double sided tape
- Acrylic paint (yellow ochre and burnt sienne)
- Paint brush
- Paper plate
- Construction paper (pink and black)
- Cardboard (brown)
- Template
Instructions
- Using your yellow ochre colored paint, paint your paper plate for your cat's face. Use the burnt sienna color to make a strand of hair on your cat's head.
- Print the templates provided for this activity, and trace and cut the cat's parts into the corresponding colored papers.
- Add the cat parts to the paper plate and ensure the paint has completely dried out before doing so.
- Draw whiskers and mouth to your cat craft using a black pen.
- For the ears, use the printed template to trace and cut into the pink colored paper, make another pair bigger than the first ones, and paint them using the yellow ochre acrylic paint to complete your cat's ears.
- Finish off your cat's look by attaching the furry ears to the painted paper plate. And hooray! You're done!
