Fun Lion Facts for Kids

Here are three fun facts about lions that you can teach your kids while they color their lion coloring pages:

Lions are social animals and live in groups called prides. A pride typically consists of related females, their cubs, and a few adult males. The females do most of the hunting for food and take care of the cubs while the males defend their territory from intruders.
A group of lions is known as a “pride” because they work together to protect each other and hunt as a team rather than alone. This is why when a lion roars it is often joined by other members of its pride – to show strength in numbers!
Lions are apex predators which means they don’t have any natural predators themselves, however, they do compete with hyenas over food sources in their habitat. As such, lions need to be constantly alert to stay safe from these other powerful predators!

Lion Coloring Pages
