When I did these activities with my kids, they were fascinated by how their heartbeats changed when they moved. We tested our heart rates by jumping, stretching, and sitting quietly.

Fun Facts About the Human Heart
Below are some interesting heart facts that you can share with your kindergartener:
- Your heart is about the size of your fist. It grows as you grow, but no matter your age, it’s roughly the same size as your closed hand.
- The heart beats about 100,000 times a day. It never stops working, even while you sleep.
- The heart pumps blood through about 60,000 miles of blood vessels. That’s long enough to circle the Earth more than twice.
Recommended Books About the Human Heart
A great way to support learning is through books. I recommend choosing books that show realistic images or fun illustrations of the heart model so young children can visualize how it works. Look for resources that explain the functions of the heart and how it pumps oxygen-rich blood throughout the whole system, as this can help children understand the vital role the heart plays in our bodies.

Why study the human heart?
Kids gain so much from learning about how their bodies function, even when they’re quite young. Exploring the wonders of the heart not only sparks their curiosity but also empowers them to take charge of their health. Through science experiments, they can discover a better way to understand human biology, making the learning process both engaging and informative.
By grasping the importance of good nutrition, staying active, and knowing what keeps their hearts strong, they can make better daily choices. It’s exciting for them to discover their heartbeat after a fun run or a big jump—it’s a tangible reminder of their incredible bodies at work.

- Exercise and Observe: Try different activities, such as jumping, stretching, and dancing, and then discuss how their heartbeat changes.
- Human Heart Coloring Pages: Add coloring to help reinforce what they’ve learned about the different parts of the heart.
Recommended Human Body Toys
Hands-on learning makes a big difference in understanding body parts and specific organs. I recommend using human body models, puzzles, or doctor kits to help kids interact with anatomy concepts in a fun way.
This approach engages them and helps reinforce their knowledge of how different body parts and organs function together.

I have the HP printer 8710, but it’s not available anymore. It’s been running well for years now. Look for another HP Instant Ink-ready printer so that you can use their program to send you ink cartridges whenever your printer gets low on ink.
