Fun Halloween Activities for Kids
More than likely, the kids are already buzzing about Halloween ideas and activities! This means that they’re excited and ready for all things spooky fun to happen. While you’re waiting for the big day to arrive, filling the time with fun and educational learning activities can be just what they need!
Not only that but they can then use these to decorate the house or create their own Halloween fun, too!
We’ve used a lot of these fun activities for weekend creativity, learning at home, or even as fun things to do during playdates as well.
This time of year also brings out some of the best Halloween books for kids as well. The great thing about Halloween books is that you can find ones that are cute and not scary! Depending on the age of your child, you may want to find books that aren’t scary, and for good reason!
My kids tend to go back and forth on what they like to read but they both agree that anything super spooky is off limits! This is why the books below are great choices for younger kids. Not only are the pictures super fun and inviting but they’re not spooky scary stories that are going to disrupt their day.
One of our favorite things to do is curl up with a good book and during the Halloween season, the cool crisp air makes it perfect for doing just that. Check out some of the Halloween books listed below and don’t forget to add some of your favorites to the list.

Make sure to sprinkle in some fun toys for Halloween as well. When you can use all different types of senses for the kids to learn, why not? They can read, play with their hands and create, or even use these toys for imaginative play!
The great thing about using toys during learning is that the kids don’t really know that they’re learning while they’re playing! So many toys nowadays are perfect for being a learning tool and a fun toy that it’s really a great combination.
What I’ve found during my toy searches is that it’s good to have a variety of different types of toys. Stuffed animals are great for emotional learning, board games are perfect for family fun and teamwork learning, and the list goes on and on!
