Practice spelling with this fun Christmas word search for kids to bring the holiday spirit into your homeschool.
Spelling doesn’t have to be a bore, word searches are great puzzles for kids to solve. They also need to be able to recognize the letters and then spell them correctly to complete a word search.
But the joy of finally searching and then finding that word feels like a great accomplishment.
We always like to do a lighter homeschool schedule in December so we can do more holiday-related activities and this would be a great addition for your kids.
It’s a fun way to work on spelling but not look like school work for your kids.
Plus bring Christmas into your homeschool lessons helps your kids get excited about learning even though everyone is looking forward to the holidays.

Does your child love puzzles?
Your child will love these Christmas word searches particularly if you’re looking for something educational to do but still fun for your kids.
Your child will have to find words that are spelled in all directions, up, down, backward, and diagonally.
It can be a challenge to find the diagonal words but that’s part of the fun.
It will challenge your child to find the correct sequence of letters, spelling in different directions.
Simple Christmas Word Search for Kids
Looking for a simple word search? This one has fewer rows and columns and with fewer words to find so you will want to start with this word search and progress to the next one.

Word Search Supplies
- Printer (I have this one)
- Pencil, highlighter, pen or pencil crayon
Worried about using too much ink? Try the HP Instant Ink program to save money on ink. I have the HP 8710 which is discontinued, but it has a scanner and copying feature which is super handy as a homeschooler. I’ve been super happy with my HP printer for our homeschool needs.
My kids use their regular pencils for word searches but sometimes my daughter gets fancy and takes out her highlighters so that her word searches will look pretty afterward.
Want a fun holiday activity for your kids this week? Don’t let this activity collect virtual dust on your computer, make sure you print it out and give it to your child to complete.
It’s a good start to your homeschool day or a fun way to end it.
