Don’t be afraid to let your kids use math manipulatives to count out their answers. They need to get hands-on and visually see the answers before they can do it in their head.

Math doesn’t have to be hard, meet your child where their skills are and help them have wins before you charge ahead so that they don’t feel defeated if they don’t get the answers right.

Christmas Addition and Subtraction Cards

Use these fun Christmas addition and subtraction cards instead of those boring math worksheets. You can have your child use a clothespin to clip it onto the correct answer.

You could also laminate them and have your child use a dry or wet erase marker with them and they can be reused again and again.

Other options include using Christmas themed erasers, pom poms or glass beads to choose the correct answer.

This is a great alternative if you have a child who hates to write.
