Parts of the Human Skeleton

Let’s take a look at some of the different parts of the human skeleton that kids will be learning about with this printable:


The skull is the bone structure that forms the head and protects the brain. It is made up of several bones that fit together like puzzle pieces.


The humerus is the bone in the upper arm that connects the shoulder to the elbow.

The rib cage is made up of the ribs, sternum, and vertebrae. It protects the heart and lungs and helps to support the upper body.


The spine is made up of a series of bones called vertebrae. It helps to support the body and protect the spinal cord.


The radius is the bone in the forearm that connects the elbow to the wrist.


The pelvis is the bone structure that connects the spine to the legs. It helps to support the upper body and provides a strong foundation for walking and other activities.


The femur is the bone in the thigh that connects the hip to the knee.


The fibula is the smaller bone in the lower leg that runs parallel to the tibia.


The tibia is the larger bone in the lower leg that connects the knee to the ankle.
