My Calendar Book Printable

Young Learners Science Club

This Calendar Book Printable is a great way to teach your younger children about timing and planning. They’ll love making and decorating their very own book!

If you’re looking for free homeschool printables that make your day easier, I keep my go-to worksheets and activity pages all in one place for quick access.

I created this printable, which would be great to use with a kindergarten or grade 1 student. If you have a preschooler who can write, they could use this as well. I know for a fact that kids love this printable because it shows them how to stay organized and be more like “mommy” or “daddy”.

What topics can you teach with a calendar printable?

This printable opens the door to meaningful conversations during your homeschool day. I found that it naturally led us into lessons that didn’t feel forced but still covered key concepts.

  • Special events and planning: Marking birthdays or activities helped them see how planning works in real life.
  • Days of the week: Kids learn the order of days and begin to predict what comes next, which builds routine awareness.
  • Months and seasons: This helps children connect months to weather changes, holidays, and seasonal activities.
  • Weather tracking: Recording daily weather gave my kids a reason to observe their environment and talk about patterns.

If you like this free kid printable, don’t forget to check out the other printables I have to offer. For example, we have tons more fun printable kindergarten worksheets to share. The more that you can print them off and work with your child, the better they’ll develop those written and verbal skills.

I’ve found that using calendars in the house is an easy way to keep everyone on task. The kids love being able to plan and also take charge of their day. Not only do calendars help with organization, but they also help give kids that feeling of independence and success.

There are many great calendar options, so be sure to find the ones that show you what you need. You can also find calendars for different ages of your child.

I’ve found that as the kids grow, my calendar needs have changed. This is why I like to rotate through and try new calendars because they all offer a different way of learning.

How to use the calendar printable?

I do like to put the worksheets into page protectors so that we can use them again each morning. I do find it will take a few times for your kids to get the spelling and correct letter formations of these days of the week and months.

If you laminate them, you can easily reuse them, too. You don’t have to laminate all of them if you don’t want to, but if you want an easy way to have them write out and work on spelling, laminating the sheets can be a great way to make that happen.

Laminating is also a great way to have the pages ready for travel. I love knowing that when we’re on the road, the kids can easily use these printables to keep them engaged and learning. As long as they have markers that wipe off easily, they’ll keep learning and using these printables over and over again.

If you’re building a consistent homeschool routine, having structured planner pages makes a big difference. I’ve relied on simple printable planners to keep both my schedule and my kids’ tasks organized without overcomplicating our day.

What skills will kids learn from calendar notebook activities?

Using a calendar book regularly supports both academic and practical learning. I noticed my kids became more confident with time-related concepts as we used these pages.

  • Time awareness: Kids begin to understand past, present, and future through daily tracking.
  • Early math skills: Working with dates builds number recognition and sequencing practice.
  • Observation skills: Tracking weather and events encourages attention to daily changes.
  • Responsibility and routine: Completing calendar pages each day helps build consistent habits.

What’s included in the calendar printable pages?
