3D Spider Craft
There are many reasons why the 3D spider craft is a great option for kids. For one, it allows them to use their imagination and creativity as they design and construct their very own spider.
This hands-on activity also promotes fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they cut, glue, and assemble the pieces. Plus, it’s a great way to introduce basic geometry concepts such as shapes, angles, and symmetry.
You can start this super easy and cute 3D spider craft by cutting a pair of egg carton out. Your kids can make as many spiders as they like. This activity can also teach them the importance of recycling.
Make sure to paint your spider bodies using a black poster or acrylic paint! You also have the option to make brown ones!
Make your adorable arachnids extra special and realistic! Prepare their legs using 8 black strips of colored paper. Make sure to attach 4 for each side of your egg cartons.
Finalize the look of your 3D spider craft by attaching a pair of the cutest googly eyes you could find! This last and final step will make your spiders appear less creepy for kids.
Let’s celebrate because you have made your first 3D spider craft! Hooray!
- Egg carton
- Colored papers (black)
- Poster paint (black)
- Paint brush
- A pair of scissors
- Set of googly eyes
- Use the old egg carton to make the spider's body. Make sure to cut out a double pair of the egg tray. Your kids can paint the spider's body with black or brown poster paint afterward.
- Prepare the spider legs using your black colored papers. Be careful when cutting the legs using a pair of scissors!
- Make sure to glue 4 legs to each side of the spider's body.
- The last and final step is to make your 3D spiders look more adorable by adding a pair of goggly eyes to complete your 3D spider's look!
