Shark Facts for Kids
Among all the species of sharks, the great white is the most well-known and especially fascinating for its reputation in films and documentaries. But, your curious child has so much more to learn about this apex predator!
Great whites have a specific body shape with a pointed snout, huge dorsal fin, and extremely powerful tails. Great whites can grow up to 20 feet long and weigh up to five thousand pounds!
They can camouflage and blend in the shadows underwater because of their grayish brown color on the upper part of their body, and a white underbelly. They can be found in all major oceans around the world too!
Teaching kids about sharks can be an excellent way to spark their curiosity and interest in the natural world!
Your kids can also read books about the great white shark and other types of sharks in my reading list recommendation below.
