Fun Spider Facts
Spiders are often misunderstood and can seem a bit creepy, but they’re actually fascinating creatures! Learning about spiders can help kids appreciate their unique qualities. Here are some to get you started:
- Tarantula Lifespan – While many spiders have short lifespans, tarantulas can live for over 30 years in captivity. Females even tend to live longer than males!
- Color Change – Certain species of spiders can change color to blend in with their environment. This ability helps them avoid predators and catch prey
- Mimicry – Some spiders can mimic other creatures or even objects in their environment to avoid predators or attract prey. For example, some mimic ants or bees!

Reading about spiders is a great way to help kids get comfortable with them while learning something new. Even though I’m not the biggest fan of spiders myself, I’ve found that the more we read books, the less “creepy” they seem. These books really help turn something that might seem scary into something fascinating!

I have the HP printer 8710 but it’s not available anymore. It’s been running well for years now. Look for another HP Instant Ink-ready printer so that you can use their program to send you ink cartridges whenever your printer gets low on ink.
