Frog Life Cycle Worksheets
If you have a child who loves frogs, you need these frog life cycle worksheets. We have a little pond in our backyard and no matter how many times they die while hibernating in the winter, they still come back every year.

It’s an artificial pond and it’s not deep enough for them to hibernate in. It always attracts weird wildlife to our backyard. We had a baby skunk that drowned in it this year.
My kids love watching frogs swim and hang out whenever we find them while we’re camping. They’re not so gross that my daughter shrieks when she sees them and they’ve been fun to observe. They’ve watched them eat a fly which my son thought was amazing.
These life cycle worksheets help children connect with real-life animals so that they may witness the stages of their whole lives and how they grow.

What are the stages of a frog’s life cycle?
Frogs are amphibians, they can live both in water and on land. Their life cycle starts from eggs, tadpoles, tadpoles with legs, froglets, and then to adult frogs.
Eggs
Female frogs lay hundreds of eggs that are clumped together. This is called a frogspawn which can be usually found in puddles or shallow waters. The eggs are enclosed in a jelly-like substance – which actually looked like cooked sago pearls. But no, you cannot eat it, and do not disturb it when you see one.
Frogs lay lots of eggs but only a few survive since they are so tiny and prone to being eaten by predators.
Tadpole
After one to three weeks, the eggs will now hatch into tadpoles. At this point, the tadpoles cannot live on land yet, they need to stay in the waters and feed off plant materials and algae to grow.
Tadpole with two legs
The tadpole will continue to grow and will develop its hind legs first and then the front legs.
Froglet
The tadpole with two legs will slowly metamorphose into a small frog until its gills and tails are gone.
Adult Frog
After a few weeks, the froglet will now turn into an adult frog which will soon be looking for a mate to continue the cycle.

One of the funniest memories is the time that there was a frog that was stuck to our front door window! That frog was suctioned and wasn’t letting go! The kids loved seeing his “sticky” hands and we had a great talk about how good climbers and jumpers frogs are because they’re able to hold on so well.
