Why I Love Crafting
Crafting has become one of our favorite holiday traditions. There’s something so special about spending time together, using simple materials to create something beautiful. My kids love getting their hands messy, and I love watching them focus on their projects and their creativity flowing freely. It also gives us a chance to slow down and embrace the simple joys of the season.
As a mom, I find it especially rewarding to see how proud they are when they finish a project. There’s nothing like hearing, “Look what I made!” while their faces light up. Crafting helps my kids express themselves and develop skills like patience and focus, all while having fun.
Plus, it’s the perfect way to create keepsakes that we can treasure for years to come. These little moments of creativity not only bring joy but also help teach my kids important lessons they’ll carry with them long after the season is over!

What is the advantage of using felt in craft projects?
Felt is one of my go-to materials for crafting with my kids. It’s easy to work with and can be used for almost anything. I love how soft it feels and how well it holds its shape, making it perfect for kids.
My kids also enjoy cutting out different shapes and even gluing the pieces together to create their little designs, and the best part is that it’s mess-free, unlike other materials that can be a bit more tricky to clean up.
The beauty of using felt in crafts is that it’s not only fun but also incredibly versatile. It doesn’t fray, so we don’t have to worry about edges unraveling, which is a huge plus when you’re crafting with younger children. Plus, it comes in so many colors, making it easy to create vibrant and engaging projects!

How to make this Christmas tree craft?
This Christmas tree activity was super easy to cut out, and my daughter had a great time decorating her tree. I removed all of the decorations and then let her place them back on the tree.
She straightened the garland and laid them horizontally. I had the felt circles, but we also had a container of pom poms, so I figured she would use both of them to decorate the tree.
However, she placed the felt circle onto the tree and then placed a pom pom on top. She was very meticulous in lining them up and making sure the pom pom ball stayed on top of the circle. I also added some Christmas presents to go under the tree.
How to Store Your Felt Crafts?
I place all of the pieces of the felt craft into a Ziploc bag and keep them in a storage box. My daughter is free to pull them out when she wants to play with them.
But she has to put the old one back before taking out a new one. It helps keep the crafts sorted properly.
I have some more felt projects coming up, but it looks like I will have to get another order of felt. My most used colors are running low and I don’t think we’ll be stopping anytime soon with these. If you love felt crafts, I have some cute felt craft projects you can try here!
