The smell of smoke, the delicious smell of roasted marshmallows and the fresh open air on your face the first thing you wake up in the morning. Camping is such a treat and yes the bugs and all we do love it. I’m not going to lie, we’re not tent camping because we do have a trailer but it’s totally camping. If I can’t have a place for my daughter to use the washroom 2 feet away, we’d never make it. She’s one of those who waits until the last minute to let us know she needs to go, so it’s a short wait time. We use it for sleep but otherwise the majority of our time is spent outdoors which is ideal. Even though we like to spend our time outdoors, that doesn’t mean we don’t bring activities for the kids to do. Looking forward to your next camping trip? Have fun with these Camping I Spy Printables.
Camping I Spy Printable Supplies
- Paper (I have this one)
Print out the printables onto paper and have your child count the number of items and write them next to the object. To keep track they can cross them off as they find them. There are 3 pages and they differ in difficulty.
To extend this activity, ready a huge list of camping books, have your kids help plan the next camping trip and let them pack their own bags so that they can figure out what they need. Find out about the camp site and look up what wildlife you may encounter in that area so you’re prepared on your visit. Research the type of plants, trees, birds and rodents you may see and animals I’m sure you wouldn’t want to see like bears. Practice safety procedures if you encounter a bear and discuss how to keep your trash and food safe.
My daughter loves packing her own backpack full of books and toys, her must haves for camping and it keeps her occupied while I’m cooking.
