What’s special about the color blue?
Blue is a special color because it’s everywhere you look. Think about the big sky above and the vast oceans; they’re both blue. It’s a color that helps us feel calm and peaceful, like when we’re looking at a clear blue sky.
Blue can also make us think of things that are strong and reliable, like our favorite pair of jeans. Even though blue is all around us, every time we see it, it feels fresh and exciting, like spotting the first blue flower in spring or gazing at the twinkling blue stars at night.
Also, it’s the world’s favorite, according to numerous surveys. Teaching children about blue opens discussions about the sky, water, and even how we perceive colors.
