Back to School Shopping List

We’re in August now and we have to start thinking about getting our kids back to school. As year round homeschoolers, I don’t have a back to school time but I do all of my back to school shopping during this time because the sales are happening now. This is my Christmas time; I’m like a kid in a candy store when the back to school sales are on. I love finding great things on sale that I would never pay full price for. When the sales are happening, this is the best time to load up on supplies for the whole school year since they won’t be on sale like this again. It’s so exciting when I find something on my list that’s on sale – it’s like I’ve hit a jackpot because I know about all the money that I’ve saved. back-to-school-list

After all of the necessities that my kids need for school such as pencils, binders, pens, markers, erasers, etc. — we are now down to back packs, running shoes and back to school clothes such as jeans, jogging pants, tights, shirts, sweaters and gym apparel. One place that you can check out is Marshalls: they’re new to Canada and it was a fun experience with my kids as we went shopping.  You can locate a store near you through the store locator. We live 10 minutes away from one so it wasn’t too far at all.  My daughter is a natural shopper so she was really in her element here. My boys hate shopping unless it’s for video games or toys so they weren’t as excited for our shopping trip. We found a pair of Frozen running shoes for my daughter for $19.99, and wears them everywhere now. She was so happy. My son’s running shoes were $34.99 and they have laces, which he’s so proud of since he’s never had them before. We also grabbed a Blue Jays T-shirt for $7, which was a great deal, since they always go for more. The Hello Kitty backpack for my daughter was only $14.99. Hubby grabbed a pair of Bluetooth headphones, which I think will be great for the kids when someone needs to work on a lesson at the computer that needs video. Also, we were able to cross off running shoes from our list, hooray! Great find. Of course we had to check out the toy section while we were here, but we didn’t really need any more toys at all. marshalls-long My daughter picked out her first backpack – it’s so cute. She now carries it around with her everywhere. It currently holds her library books and fake money. We had to check my kids’ shoe sizes because we were picking up some running shoes for both of them and they thought it was really fun. I was astonished to learn that my son’s foot had gone up another 2 sizes since we purchased his last pair. marshalls After her exhausting shopping trip, my daughter enjoyed a nice frozen treat outside; it was such a gorgeous day. My daughter is really into graphic tees right now. Cute ones!!

  2. My son is older and is very conscious of his own sense of style. It doesn’t match what I would choose, but if he is happy, I am happy! Thanks for a chance to win!

  8. My son is only three, so style doesn’t matter. We just need anything that can be put on easily.

  9. The back to school style that I am most looking for this year is a cute kimono I love the coverage.
