Why is reading important for kids?

I’m a big believer in the power of reading. Reading is a great way to help your kids learn new words, but it’s also the perfect way to introduce more learning concepts to your child as well.

Reading is literally part of everything that we do every single day. If you can start reading with your kid at a young age, they’ll be readers as they age, possibly as well.

Even sitting at the computer and working all day is a form of reading, in a sense. This is why I always have a pile of books for the kids, literally, in most places that we are.

I have books in every room of the house so that they can sit and read. I also keep books in the car because I’d much rather they pick up a book than pick up a screen or an electronic.

All you have to do is rotate out books to keep them new and fresh. We also love going to the library one or two times per month and checking out a stack of great books, too.
