Ocean I Spy Game Printable

Who’s ready to hit the beach? One can dream of warmer weather though, hence the creation of this Ocean I Spy game printable for kids. My daughter loves the beach and I thought it was a great reminder of the sunny summer weather that we’re eagerly awaiting.

Have a look at this amazing list of Ocean Activities for Kindergarten for more fun learning activities.

I have this simple I Spy counting game and another page with a little more difficulty. My daughter enjoys searching for the different animals while my son, the box checker, would cross off the ones he counted to ensure he was right.

This is a fun way to get your students counting up to 10, and it’s not as boring as filling in those worksheets. It’s colorful and catches their attention. If your child likes to keep track of what they’ve counted, they can place a block, pom pom, or coin to ensure that they have not counted the item twice.

Recommended Ocean Books for Kids

You can’t go wrong with one of these adorable ocean books and you must have an ocean encyclopedia on hand to see the awesome sea creatures that are found in the ocean.

We keep a stack of books in every room so that the kids can just pick up a book and read. I’m all about them filling their minds full of facts and interesting information rather than just sitting in front of a screen.

Some tips that I’ve found that works great for getting the kids to read more are to have books that they’re interested in and full of fun pictures and facts. Some of these books have some really cool graphics in them that are going to hold their attention!

One other big factor in keeping the kids interested in books is that you need to cycle them out. If you leave a giant stack of books in the room and expect your kids to read them over and over again, the kids are going to get tired of them and they’re going to ignore them altogether.

I tend to put out books that are themed so that the kids are likely to read more about the subject that we’re studying as well.

As long as they’re picking up a book, I’m happy! Here are some great ocean books that the kids are certain to love!

They’re a lot of fun to sit down and read together as a family, too!
