Erupting Halloween Pumpkin Experiment
This activity is quick, colorful, and exciting for early elementary-aged kids. It’s also an easy way to add some seasonal science to your week.
Ingredients
- Spill tray
- 3 small glass or plastic pumpkins
- 3 tbsp Baking soda
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups Vinegar
- Food coloring red and yellow or orange
- Dish soap
- Measuring spoon
- Measuring cup
Instructions
- Place the pumpkins in the tray.
- Mix food coloring into vinegar.
- Add baking soda and dish soap to each pumpkin.
- Pour in the vinegar and watch them erupt.
