I may have mentioned a time or two that my house loves Halloween. We love the costumes, the treats, and the fun educational learning that we can incorporate into our homeschooling lessons.
And seriously, what’s there not to love about Halloween? In our house, we have fun with it rather than letting it be scary and we love the holiday so much! It’s just such a great chance for learning and fun unique bonding moments!
Do you know what your kids’ costumes will be for Halloween yet? My boys are still into Star Wars and Transformers so I think they’ll be sticking with that theme. My daughter is still in the princess phase so she’ll be wearing one of her dress-up outfits. If you want to bring Halloween into your classroom, print out these printable lacing cards to help them with their fine motor skills.
We try to bring holidays and other themes into our homeschool to change things up and make their learning relevant to the time of the year.

Lacing cards are just such a great way to really focus in on fine motor skills and learning for kids. They’ll love being independent and doing this activity on their own while getting in the mood for Halloween fun as well!
I love printing these off and having them with me in the car and in my purse because they’re a simple activity to have the kids work on while we’re waiting or during travel times.

Fun Ways to Use This Halloween Activity for Kids
Print the lacing cards out onto card stock for more durability, cut them out, then cover with contact paper or laminate them and then hole punch them. This is a simple and easy way to create your own lacing cards for your kids and they can be used over and over again.
To extend this activity, read one of these fun Halloween books and have them do the lacing cards afterward. I always love having the draw a scene from the book and writing about it, that covers art and writing in one shot.
Have them make a gift to give out if you’re not doing treats for Halloween. Have fun carving pumpkins into fun characters as well!
