Who Is This Printable For?
These worksheets are designed for toddlers who are ready for short, adult-guided activities.
Use one page at a time based on your child’s interest. There’s no need to complete the whole printable in one sitting.
Why Use Spider Worksheets?
Spider worksheets give toddlers a familiar theme for exploring simple early learning activities.
The large spiders and webs also give you plenty to point out and talk about together while your child colors, traces, or counts.
Recommended Spider Books
Add a few spider picture books to your reading time so toddlers can see different spiders, webs, and stories connected to the theme.

What Will Kids Learn?
These spider worksheets introduce a few basic skills for toddlers.
- Letter recognition: Become familiar with the letter S and connect it with the word spider.
- Pre-writing: Follow straight, curved, and angled tracing lines.
- Counting: Count groups of one, two, and three spiders.
- Fine motor skills: Practice controlling crayons or markers while tracing and coloring.
- Visual attention: Follow paths and notice the different spider pictures on each page.
What Supplies Are Needed?
You only need a few basic supplies.
- Printer (I have this one)
- Paper
- Crayons
- Pencil or washable marker
- You can also use dot markers on the large circles inside the letter S.
I have the HP printer 8710, but it’s no longer available. It’s been running well for years now. Consider another HP Instant Ink-ready printer so that you can use their program to send you ink cartridges whenever your printer gets low on ink.
What Is Included?
The printable includes five spider-themed pages with coloring, letter recognition, tracing, and early counting activities.
Spider Coloring Page
The first page features two spiders, a spider web, and the large word Spider. Toddlers can color the pictures and letters while you talk about what they see.
S Is for Spider
Children explore a large letter S with circles inside it alongside a spider and web. They can color the page or fill the circles with crayons or dot markers while becoming familiar with the letter S.
Follow the Lines
Toddlers follow four straight dotted paths from different spiders up to their webs. This gives them a simple introduction to following a line from one point to another.
Trace the Lines
The next page adds more variety with a straight diagonal path, a curved path, and an angled path leading from a spider to different webs.
Let’s Count
Children count groups of one, two, and three spiders, then color the same number of dots beside each group to show their answer.
How Can You Extend the Activity?
Keep the spider theme going with a few low-prep activities.
- Try more hands-on ideas from these Spider Activities for Toddlers.
- Make a simple project inspired by The Very Busy Spider Craft and More Spider Activities.
- Make a web with yarn or string and let your child place toy spiders around it.
- Count one, two, and three toy spiders or spider pictures to build on the counting page.
How Can You Keep Learning Going?
Add more printables and hands-on activities that give little learners practice with tracing, pencil control, hand-eye coordination, and other early fine motor skills. Using different types of activities can help toddlers work with their hands while keeping practice short and manageable.
What Other Activities Can You Try?
Mix in more spider activities to give toddlers different ways to explore the theme through games, coloring, crafts, counting, and hands-on play.
