About Monique Boutsiv

Meet Monique

I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m a homeschooling mom of four amazing kids (currently ages 2, 14, 18, and 24), and I’ve been homeschooling for the past 18 years.

When I first started homeschooling my oldest, I thought science had to come from a textbook. I’d carefully prepare the lesson, explain everything, and then get nothing but blank stares in return. It was frustrating, overwhelming, and honestly… not much fun for either of us.

That’s when I decided to try something different.

I put the textbook aside and started creating my own activities based on what my son was interested in. Instead of forcing him through lessons, we explored topics that sparked his curiosity. Suddenly science became something my kids looked forward to. They remembered what they learned, asked more questions, and even laughed when experiments didn’t go as planned.

That experience completely changed the way I approached teaching.

Before long, I was creating more and more activities for my own kids, and other homeschool families started asking where they could find them. That’s how Living Life and Learning was born.

Today, Living Life and Learning has grown into a library of more than 2,500+ educational articles and printable resources covering preschool, kindergarten, elementary learning, science, STEM, Bible activities, seasonal themes, planners, and much more.

As the site grew, so did the ways I could support families. I created the Young Learners Science Club, a membership that gives homeschool families and educators access to exclusive science printables and ready-to-use activities. I also design educational resources for the Living Life and Learning Shop and Teachers Pay Teachers store, and I’m the author of The Homeschool Planning Guide for the Unorganized Mom, where I share practical tips to help homeschool families who are new to homeschooling.

Everything I create is inspired by real life. After homeschooling four children across a wide range of ages, I know every family learns a little differently. My goal is to create resources that are simple to use, engaging for kids, and help parents and teachers spend less time planning and more time enjoying the learning process.

I hope you’ll find resources that make learning easier, encourage curiosity, and help create memories you’ll share with your kids for years to come.

When I’m not creating new resources, I’m reading, drinking tea or at the beach if the weather permits since we only get three months of beach weather.

Let’s stay connected!
