Give your child a few outdoor building blocks and ask them to choose a building spot.
Draw a large chalk shape on the ground and invite them to build inside it.
Add roads, paths, or arrows with sidewalk chalk.
Encourage your child to connect buildings, towers, and designs with chalk lines.
Ask simple questions as they work, such as:
What are you building?
How tall can you make your tower?
Can you draw a road to your building?
What color chalk do you want to use next?
Can you make a bridge, house, garage, or store?
Let them rebuild, erase with water, and try new ideas. The best part of this chalk activity is that there is no single correct way to play.
