Author Monique B

Ingredients

  • 2 empty toilet paper rolls per snowflake cut into 1/4 inch strips
  • tacky glue
  • acrylic paint in Winter colors dark blue, light blue, light purple, white
  • matching glitter dark blue, light blue, silver, white, etc

Instructions

  • To set up the snowflake crafts for kids to make and decorate, be sure to have the empty toilet paper rolls cut up into strips ahead of time because it takes a little bit. Each snowflake takes about 2 empty toilet paper rolls, so calculate accordingly.
  • Have kids make their own, unique, simple, and beautiful designs. They can put the pieces together to form the snowflake they want. Then they can use tacky glue to glue the pieces together.
  • Once it is completely dry, they can pick their favorite paint. I used dark blue and then I added white to make a different shade. I can also get the light purple and added a little bit of light blue to change the shade a bit. You can also have them paint the different pieces of the snowflake in patterns. Let them dry completely.
  • The last step for these awesome snowflake crafts for kids is to add glitter. On a paper plate, sprinkle some glitter. I used 4 different colors, so I used some paper plates. You can put some tacky glue on top of the snowflakes with a paintbrush and then turn it upside-down on the plate to have the glitter stick. In the end, fold the paper plate and funnel it back into the glitter container.
  • Use the snowflakes to decorate your mantle, or dining room table, or use ribbon to hang them grow doorknobs. My daughter did that and they look lovely!
