Simple Dissolving Peeps Science Experiment

This dissolving science experiment for kids is so much fun!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of water
  • 6 marshmallow peeps
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ½ cup of salt

Instructions

  • Put 1 cup of water into three varying cups. Add 1/4 cup sugar to one and stir. Add 1/4 cup salt to another and stir.
  • For the three other cups, add water and heat until hot. Each should have 1 cup of water in them.
  • Add 1/4 cup sugar to one and stir.
  • Add 1/4 cup salt to one and stir.
  • Put a peep into each cup and set a timer for 2 minutes.
  • Check how they look after the timer goes off. Make a note.
  • Do this over and over, checking after every 2 minutes.
  • Talk about what dissolved the peeps the quickest.
